A Look Insideļ¼Retail Careers AT&T
The role of the retail team at AT&T is essentially to be the face of the globe and the face of the brand. Whenever a customer walks into our store, the first person they see is one of us. Every day I come into work and I walk to the back. I get my tablet and I clock in.
They give us time to get settled in and we start our morning huddle or morning hat always about what we’re going to be able to attain for the day and what we need to set for our expectations and our goals for that day.
There are definitely different metrics and sales goals. We must meet on a day-to-day basis. However they’re easily attainable. If you ever have any issues or everything you’re not going to come close to meeting, you’ll have the right management and support stuff to make sure that we jump up almost goals connecting with customers.
It’s what I love to do to begin with. It’s natural to me. Whether a customer is angry or whether a customer comes in to purchase something, they walk out with a smile and they walk out satisfied. I’m bilingual and AT&T offers a lot of opportunities for bilinguals.
It’s important for us to allow the customers to feel comfortable. Speaking their own native language allows us to provide to them the best experience where they’re able to express what they’re needing and wanting.
At ATT, our pay structure is amazing. You get paid hourly and you also get paid Commission. The harder you work, the more effort you put into your job and in your career, the more money you make.
You get to different competitions within the stores or within the area. You win different prizes. You go to the movies on AT&T. You go to see a game on AT&T. Whatever it may be but it’s on AT&T.
You get your medical benefits. You get your dental. You get all those kinds of benefits. But on top of that you get discounts in the story. It counts on your bills. AT&T has the tuition reimbursement which I’ve been able to take advantage of.
I’m almost done with my masters. Because of its starting off you’re probably going to work on some weekends. There are going to be some times where you might close. But to be honest with you that’s not a bad thing.
I’ve personally seen that working on the weekends you might get more sales than working on the weekday. You can even get a couple of days off during the week which affords you time to run errands or take care of family business.
When you start with our company, you have so many training opportunities. It is amazing and it doesn’t stop there in the retail setting. It opens up a lot of doors for us to develop ourselves as managers or assistant managers. From there there are billions of positions that we could apply for. The best building for me at my job is that I was able to make somebody’s life easier. That’s amazing. That’s technology. That’s the life here at AT&T and I’m so happy to be a part of that.
